Bromley Primary Schools' Pop Lacrosse Tournament
Primary school teams from Perry Hall, The Highway, Hillside and Redhill competed in the first Pop Lacrosse Tournament staged at The Priory School, Orpington. With support from Croydon Foxes Lacrosse Club and Bromley School Sport Partnership, the event attracted over a hundred spectators with participating teams engaged in many a close-call encounter played at a fast pace.
The final produced an end-to-end match between The Highway and Perry Hall, both schools from Orpington, with the latter running out victorious in a fingernail-biting finish of 5-4. Sports leaders from several Secondary schools were on hand to help officiate the proceedings.
Paul Brett, Chairman of Croydon Foxes,commented , ‘We had a really enjoyable tournament with a tremendously exciting final. All the kids cheered their opposition and it was played in a good spirit.’ Andrew Fish, Partnership Development Manager, added, ‘It was a great example of school to club links at its best with all the elements from coaching to young leaders to competition to mixed sex teams.’
