Bromley Young Ambassadors

The Role of the Young Ambassador

The role of the Young Ambassador is to bring the inspiration and magic of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to other young people in their School Sport Partnership. They are to promote their work by visiting schools within their cluster groups, and speaking at assemblies and supporting events with younger people.  They are to be your best young people - advocates, role models and leaders of other young people.   To assist with holding an assembly, please click here for a useful template.

Each secondary school across Bromley has now got four Young Ambassadors from Year 9 to Year 13.  Each of these students went through a selection process, having to meet one of two criteria which were excelling in leadership or excelling in performance.

Young Ambassadors Conference 2010 - 2011

On 21st September Bromley sent 10 students to the Brit Oval for their training to become Sports Ambassadors in their schools and around Bromley.

At the conference the YAs met Christine Ohuruogu, the Olympic and World Champion 400m runner and Steve Granger, Chief Executive of the Youth Sport Trust.

Their main task for the day was to work in teams to plan how they would deliver the Olympic values to their schools and partner schools.
