Cheerleading Spectacle comes to Bromley
The inaugural Bromley School Sport Partnership Cheerleading Competition was an awesome showcase for schools in the borough. The event proved popular with over 120 pupils competing and a similar number watching.
Seven teams competed on Thursday 21st May at Beaverwood School to win a trophy for best overall performance. The event was sponsored by Balloon FX in Biggin Hill, who provided some brilliant helium balloons which added to the American feel.
The panel of judges included Kate Boynton, professional dance teacher and cheerleading coach and Natalie Gibbs, a professional dancer.
Squads taking part included Beaverwood Gems, Bullers Wood, Newstead Nightingale—The Birdies, Langley Lions, Ravensbourne Ravens, Newstead Griffin Soldiers, and Lightning Langley.
Bullers Wood were the eventual winners, and with 35 pupils in their team performing stunts, tumbling and dance moves it was a polished performance.
