Indoor Rowing
Bromley Indoor Rowshow
In conjunction with Concept II Rowing, Bromley School Sports Partnership hosted a borough ‘RowShow’ on the afternoon of Wednesday 21st May at The Priory School. Schools had the opportunity to bring a team of Year 9 students to experience a new sport and competition.
The rowing machines were electronically linked so racing could be viewed on a central screen by the competitors, spectators and supporters. After some quick coaching on rowing techniques, teams of 4 rowed 2000m – the same distance that the Olympic team will row in Beijing.
All Year 9 pupils at The Priory School were lucky enough to experience this competition, and after school, teams from Hayes, Beaverwood, Langley Park Girls, Kelsey Park and Coopers took part. All results were recorded and borough champions were announced – see full results below.
Thanks go to Bromley Mytime who supported this event and presented winning teams with a bag and free use of their facilities for a month.
