Key Stage 1 Hockey
Wednesday 5th March at The Priory
14 Year 10 and 11 Young Leaders from The Priory who completed their Hockey Leaders qualification last year had the chance to put their leadership skills into action at the Key Stage 1 Hockey Festival hosted by The Priory on 5 March. 7 local schools sent along teams of 8 children from years 1 and 2 and the children rotated around 7 activity stations led totally by the young leaders. The children practiced their skills in dribbling and passing. The event was supported by Antoinette Whitfield from Bromley Mytime who had run the Hockey Leaders course for the pupils. Antoinette said “I was very impressed with the confidence and skills of the young leaders”.
Thursday 6th March at Langley Park School for Girls
53 pupils in total attended from Burnt Ash, Churchfields, St Johns, Valley, Keston and Bromley Road Infants. Langley sports leaders ably assisted Antoinette Whitfield ( hockey coach )and expertly lead small skills sessions for the young pupils. The KS1 pupils had a great time learning new skills and overcoming challenges. The event was a resounding success for all and the Langley sports leaders gained invaluable experience.
