Year 6 Gifted and Talented Academy - Bewl Water
October 9th, 28 year 6 pupils from 8 local primary schools attended Bewl Water as part of the Year 6 Gifted and Talented Academy. The Academy has been set up with pupils being selected by their school to attend four days throughout the year to extend their knowledge and performance within Physical Education. The pupils will also attend days at Kelsey Park Sports College.
Below are photos from the day at Bewl Water in Lamberhurst, Kent. In the morning pupils were set the task of building a man made raft using wooden planks, ropes and barrels. Pupils were then asked to man the vessels and paddle them out into the reservoir, then standing up and singing “heads, shoulders ,knees and toes.”before paddling back to shore to dismantle them. In the afternoon the pupils had the opportunity to take part on a low ropes course, spiders web, rope swing, initiative games and a climbing wall.
As you can see, all the pupils had a very enjoyable and active day and all took part in all the activities.
